You have decided to start looking for suitable childcare. If you don't want to be inundated with thousands of responses, only some of which meet your selection criteria, you should write a job ad that is as targeted as possible.
We are happy to help you find the perfect care and give you specific tips on how to best express your wishes.
To ensure that the right people respond to your job ad, you should first be clear about what is important to you and then address these particularly relevant points when writing the ad. Here are some pointers:
Hours/workload
Do you need a daily/regular caregiver for your child? If yes, how many hours per week?
Or are you just looking for someone to help out occasionally? If yes, how regularly (1-2 times per week/month/sporadically)?
Times
Are you looking for someone for fixed weekdays, just for the weekend and/or only for specific times (e.g. mornings or evenings only)? If so, please mention it!
Requirements/references/certificates
Do you want the person to have a lot of childcare experience, to have completed a relevant training course or to have other certificates (such as a babysitting course or first-aid course)?
Are references from other parents important to you?
Age and gender
Are you looking for school pupils or students, or people with many years of childcare experience?
Do you have a preference regarding gender?
Salary expectations
Do you have a specific idea of what salary you would like to pay or what your maximum hourly rate is?
Language
Is it important to you that the caregiver speak a certain language? For example, so that your child is cared for in their mother tongue or so that they come into contact with foreign languages at an early age.
Place of residence
Do you place a high value on the person living nearby, so that they can spontaneously step in if you need childcare at short notice?
Additional tasks
Do you want the person to take care of additional tasks besides childcare (such as cooking, shopping, simple household activities)? If so, then it's better to mention this in the job ad.
Interests/activities
Are you looking for someone who will do certain activities with your children (e.g. spending a lot of time in nature, musical activities) or who shares your characteristics and interests (e.g. loves animals, doesn't smoke)?
Above all, it is important that you mention all the points that are particularly close to your heart, in addition to organisational information. Feel free to include characteristics that are important to you (e.g. patient, warm-hearted, motivated, reliable).
This increases the likelihood that only those people with whom you have good chemistry will respond to your ad.
There are several thousand childminders on our platform, and you can narrow down the search according to your criteria.
