Basic information on safety and quality

When it comes to childcare, we generally believe that parents know the requirements of their children best. We support you in your search for appropriate childcare, but are unable to test every single child carer in person. Always make sure to take a close look at several offers and invite the individuals you would like to consider for a personal meeting at a neutral location. Make your decision on which child carer is best for you and your family on the basis of your personal impression, as well as the individual's qualifications and references.

Every registration on Babysitting24 is subjected to a multi-step quality assurance process:

  • In order to protect personal privacy, no personal details such as telephone numbers, addresses or e-mail addresses are published.
  • Contact is only possible for registered users.
  • Contact is made via an anonymous form.
  • Babysitters can list their respective qualifications (e.g. Swiss Red Cross babysitter course) in their profile.

Safety precautions for the protection of babysitters

We have taken the following safety precautions on our websites:

  • Parents are required to register and must save their billing details and address. This ensures that the misuse of the service through the provision of incorrect details can largely be ruled out. This data is, of course, protected.
  • No personal details such as last names, telephone numbers, addresses or e-mail addresses are published.
  • Inappropriate content can be reported to us via the corresponding link.

Make sure to only ever contact the families using the online form. This guarantees your anonymity and thus your safety. You can also assume that anybody offering a job who responds using the form is serious, as he or she has paid to make contact and we therefore know his or her identity. Should anybody attempt to circumvent this mechanism, please report the individual in question immediately to our Customer Support team.

Safety precautions for parents outside the Internet

After initial contact has been established between the parents and babysitter via Babysitting24, there are additional safety precautions which you should observe:

  • Prior to a babysitter visiting for the first time, collect references on them and check these.
  • Speak with the babysitter's parents if the babysitter has not yet reached the age of majority.

Safety precautions for babysitters outside the Internet

  • Prior to making an initial visit, clarify that a mother / a father and a child are behind a job offer.
  • Inform your parents, friends or acquaintances that you are going to visit a potential employer for the first time.
  • Babysitters below the age of majority should be accompanied by their parents to an initial interview.
  • Also ask for references, i.e. make contact with the family's old babysitters so that you can gain an impression of the family prior to the first visit.
