Interview and trial sessions

Interview and trial sessions

In general, you are not required to compensate an applicant for the time taken to hold an interview. The reason for this is that both parties have an interest in the interview. For babysitters and nannies, however, it is not at all unusual for the employee to pay for the travel costs linked to the interview.

If the applicant performs his or her future duties for a short period (e.g. one hour), this can be viewed as a trial session. It is only mandatory to provide payment here if the trial session was arrangedif remuneration was agreed on in advance. Still, aAs remuneration should generally be provided for performed work, it seems appropriate to provide payment for the relevant time. If you decide to hire the applicant, this payment can be made with the first wage, for example.
