Basic questions about Babysitting 24

How do you guarantee the quality of the baby-sitter ?

Basically we believe that every parent knows the requirements of their child best. We accompany your search for the best baby-sitter, but we cannot personally qualify every individual baby-sitter. Make a wide search and look at several offers. Invite the chosen baby-sitters to meet with you in neutral surroundings. Make your decision based on personal impressions, the qualifications and references and choose the baby-sitter best suited to you and your family.

Every applications is filtered through a multi-layered qualifying process:

• for personal data protection, telephone numbers, address or email are not disclosed

• contact is only possible for registered users
• contact is established through a neutral and anonymous form.
• baby-sitters may show qualifications in their profiles such as baby-sitting courses (Swiss Red Cross).

Is the cost of the baby-sitter included in the registration fee ?

No, payment of the baby-sitter is the responsibility of the parents and is not included in the registration fee.

Does the service cost anything?

We have services with and without costs. For childminders the service will always be free of charge. Parents can subscribe for free to get an idea of the service. If parents wish to contact childminders a subscription fee is due.

What kind of support is provided?

Membership / Registration

Why do I have to register ?

Only after registration will it be possible for you to create your profile and search for a baby-sitter or look for a job.

Do I need to cancel my membership?

No, we don’t trick our customers. Your membership does NOT renew itself automatically and will be deleted after the paid period. We do NOT charge you again.

I have registered, but have not yet received a confirmation of this activity ?

There can be several reasons:

• the mail may be in your spam-file and so therefore check your mail programme in the spam-file and mark the mail as “not spam”.
• you may have made a spelling error when registering and your email may be pending with us. Just re-register making sure to use the correct spelling.

Why does it take several days for activation of my account if I pay by payment slip.

We will send your invoice by postal service enclosing a pre-printed payment slip. Contact access will be activated as soon as your payment is received in our bank account and confirmed by our bank.

Please note, that due to long bank and postal processing time unfortunately it can take up to 5 days for activation.
If you wish instant activation, please pay by credit card.

Will my personal data be exposed to third parties ?

No, all our data is handled with confidentially and not passed on.
Without your prior consent you will not receive any offers from third-parties.

I live abroad and wish to know if I can still register ?

Yes, of course you can pay by credit card (currently via Paypal). We will be pleased to forward you the respective information.

I registered myself as a baby-sitter and not a parent by mistake. What should I do ?

Just delete your account and then re-register.

Questions about search and find

Why don’t I get a response from my advert ?

There are several reasons why you may not have had a reply.

• not everyone checks their emails on a daily basis, some do this only once a week
• parents or the baby-sitter have found a sitter or a job, and have de-activated your profile
• the recipient is on vacation
• unfortunately not everybody keeps to the rules and simply do not reply

I would like to contact a baby-sitter, but have not been able to ?

Interactive contact is only possible from parents to baby-sitters and vice versa. Perhaps by mistake you have registered yourself as a baby-sitter and not as a parent.

I can’t find a baby-sitter in my area ?

Try again and change the search criteria by increasing the maximum distance to your home.

Employment, Insurance

Do I need to insure the baby-sitter ?

Yes, you become the employer of a baby-sitter (or a cleaner, gardener etc) and this gives you the status of an employer and therefore obliged to insure your employees.

Is there a minimum age for baby-sitters ?

According to the legal rules and regulations children under 13 years of age are not permitted to work.

What safety features are in place to protect the baby-sitter ?

• parents must register and include their billing address as well as their complete address. This prevents any mis-use and submission of false or incorrect data. All data submitted is secure

• No personal information such as surname, telephone numbers, address nor email will be disclosed.

• Inappropriate content can be reported using the provided link in the profile

Security features outside the internet frame-work

After initial contact between the parent and the baby-sitter through Babysitting24, these further security measures should be adhered to:

What should parents pay attention to ?

• get references before you arrange the first visit of a baby-sitter and check them thoroughly
• speak to the parents of the baby-sitter if he or she is underage

What should baby-sitters pay attention to ?

• clarify that a mother with a child have placed the job offer
• inform your own parents or a friend that you are going to have an initial meeting with a potential employer
• underage baby-sitters should be accompanied by their parents at the initial job interview.
• ask for references and contact previous baby-sitters employed by the family in order to get an impression about the family prior to your first visit
